Although we can sleep on the special classes and extended classes, I think we should decide on which classes will become BASE CLASSES before the site is officially launched. so if I forgot one, let me know, and if I put one on here that isn't intended to be a base class, let me know as well. note: Not voting for a class does not harm it's eligibility to become a special class or extended class. For more information about the above classes look here: Beast MasterTrickster and PhenomGuardian and DragonMirror ImageAlso, if you are so inclined, you may offer alternatives for the Classes you don't think should be base classes. Maybe they should be an extended class for some other class, or they're too similar to one that is already a base class...

Side note: I'll pick the 3 with the highest vote. if we end up with ties, this topic will stay up even after we launch and we'll just add on.

can't more than one win, though, Kaga? I was just trying to see which ones people wanted to go with.

Considering that one person can vote on all six classes if they want to then most likely there will be a lot of ties.

We already have a Guardian class. It's Blademaster w/o the shield. Since its R:5 we can even give them shields.
Long Arms use Spears so Dragon's need something else.
Mirror Image name sounds lame .__.; Enjoyed watching Naruto? lol. And its the same concept as Trickster.
I like the concept of Beast Master but perhaps rename it? Sounds really close to Blademaster; their abbreviations are the same too. How about Summoner? & Wavemasters use Staves. How about Summoner's use books to get their summoning spells from?
Trickster is, again, the same concept as Mirror Image so can't have both as base classes. But the idea in itself is interesting. Indirect combat.
Phenom uses its hands as weapons right? So like a Brawler, except it doesn't excel in agility. .. I just don't like the imagery. Large 7-10 feet people walking around like semi-giants. It works if the tall people are beasts and bulky, but otherwise I picture it really weird. Tall and lanky. Can we rename the class Giants so I can picture them like Hagrid from Harry Potter, rather than Sun Ming from the NBA? Or include the word "bulky"
Those are my thoughts relating to these ideas becoming base classes. No vote yet.

Trickster could be used as an extension of Mirror Image (or the other way around), too. I actually like the name Beastmaster, and I was thinking maybe Lein's Puppetmaster class could be an extension of Beastmaster. Perhaps Mirror Image could be renamed to Illusionist?

Beast master could easily be renamed Druid, but Bo staffs and staves are pretty different. A bo staff is a martial weapon, where as the staves Wavemasters use are topped with something and used to cast spells. We're kinda running outta weapons. As far as spell books are concerned it wouldn't really make sense for Beast Masters to use them since their spell list is pretty limited. It would make more sense to give Wavemasters Grimoires like the Shadow Warlocks of R:2. not that I'm suggesting it.

Actually if you recall in the descrip the Dragon class uses a sword/spear or both at once. Long arms only use a spear or polearm like weapon.
The blademaster is a shieldless class. Hence the Guardian is possible.
And no the Phenom class is more then just a brawler. It is a class that excels soley in causing as much pain as it can in short bursts. It has a sever lack of speed but it's attacking power is higher then any other class.

Perhaps you could make the Phenom class more orc-ish. (DnD orcs I mean) so that it's a brutal meat shield with no speed or defense, but ridiculous HP and strength. It could also use a club or hammer as it's weapon and differ from what I think Sphire is perceiving.

as far as the Beast Master class is concerned. I can change it to Beast Tamer or Druid, and give them a Whip as a weapon. It'd be mid-range, and function in a similar way to the scythes of R:2. Would that solve your discrepancy, Sphire?

I didn't realize that Mirror Image was the same concept as Trickster when I posted it. I only realized that after I had posted it it. The name does sound lame, I know that but it's the first name that came to mind. It could be renamed to Illusionist and I think Trickster could be the extension of Mirror Image, since it specializes more in Indirect combat than mine does.
